In his rookie season with the Rangers, Duguay netted 20 goals and assisted on 20 others in the 1977-78 season. Just one year later, the team, led by the likes of 37-year-old Phil Esposito, advanced to the Stanley Cup finals where they lost in five games to the powerhouse Montreal Canadiens.
